I truly appreciate the dedication to craftsmanship, process and
attention to detail given to this medium, esp. with the likes of
Disney, Pixar and Japanese anime features. Aside from my childhood
dream to become a comic book artist (actually met with Stan Lee
of Marvel Comics... who later discouraged me to pursue it... thanks,
Stan), I was always fascinated by the work of Disney. I took animation
courses in college, which then really opened my eyes to "playing
God" with clay and stop motion animation processes as well
as cel animation production and planning. Truly loved it, but wasn't
sure if this was my true calling, esp. when my instructor insisted
that "there is no money in animation... keep it as a hobby."
Perhaps there's more to life than money.
Siince the introduction of Macromedia Flash, I have tinkered with
some animation design projects and continue to evolve in this medium.
