Though I do consider myself a traditional artist (depending on the
hat I'm wearing that day), I have a love for experimenting with
different techniques and mediums, either for client preference or
my own. (i.e., caricature art and cartooning). My first works of
"art" were of Disney characters (I guess at the age of
4, it's pretty subjected to just that), then evolved into comic
book heroes, then evolved into formulating styles and more disciplinary
focus on subject matter and techniques. Some of my early inspirations
came by adapting unique artistic styles from the likes of Don Martin
(MAD magazine), Jack Kirby and John Romita (Marvel) and Chuck Jones
(Warner Bros/Looney Tunes).
I also have been partial to art deco as well... very clean and stylistic
use of lines and colors with relevant symmetry and consistency attributes.
My
idealisms with regards to "art" has matured quite a bit
over the years and now I am quite comfortable with my abilities
and diversification.
